Permanent Collection

Our permanent collection currently consists of 556 pieces that are housed in our climate controlled vault. The Acquisitions Committee consists of Pat Grayston and Donna McKeand-Smith. For a full list of our permanent collection, please click here

April Sutherland is Registrar on a part-time basis. Bethany Koch is the Assistant Registrar.  The mandate of the permanent collection is to collect a record of artistic activity in this region of Saskatchewan. Permanent Acquisition exhibitions are shown on a regular basis. Addie Suchorab completed the Internet based project entitled “Influences of Emma Lake Art School”; a virtual exhibit that is featured on Virtual Museum Canada website www.virtualmuseum.ca. It was made possible by the “Community Memories" grant from CHIN (Canadian Heritage Information Network). Click here for Influences of Emma Lake Art School. The exhibit features pieces from the Permanent Collection from artists who were influenced or influential at the Kenderdine Campus at Emma Lake Art School.

Acquisition Donor Program

The Acquisition Donor Program enables the Art Gallery of Prince Albert to purchase critical artworks necessary for the integrity, growth and development of the collection. Through the generosity of our Donors, we purchase works of art that would normally be outside of our fiscal budget for Acquisitions. The Donor receives a Charitable Donation Receipt, Donor recognition, and the profound thanks of the Gallery and the community.

Special thanks to our Permanent Collection Benefactors:

  • Roses Stewart for the purchase of Deep Trout by Mel Bolen
  • Dennis Balon for the purchase of a display cabinet for new acquisitions
  • Joanne & Dennis Maher for the purchase of a display cabinet for new acquisitions
